6 warning signs of foie gras

In most cases, fatty liver disease is asymptomatic. This means it is difficult to detect until a medical examination has been performed. Here are some of the tests used to diagnose this condition:

Blood tests.
Liver ultrasounds.
Liver biopsies.
Therefore, there are no specific and unequivocal warning signs of fatty liver. However, it should be noted that some patients present with symptoms or health problems that may be related to this condition. Let’s examine them.

1. Abdominal Pain:
According to some patients’ experiences, abdominal pain is considered one of the warning signs of fatty liver. It is not an isolated pain, but rather pain that occurs in association with other symptoms.

It is felt in the center or upper right part of the abdomen. It is not necessarily linked to a specific activity or exertion. It can appear after a meal, as the stomach expands and puts pressure on the enlarged liver.

2. Abdominal Inflammation
Another possible warning sign of fatty liver is abdominal inflammation, also known as “ascites.” It is characterized by an accumulation of fluid between the visceral and parietal layers of the peritoneum and usually results from liver disease.

Symptoms of ascites include:
Indigestion.
Abdominal distension.
Difficulty breathing.
Lower back pain.
Swelling of the ankles may also occur.
